My entrepreneurial journey started long ago...
Only I didn't know it until a few years ago. I started my first job when I was thirteen. But, before that I had went from that little girl making nature art out of leaves and pine needles then selling it door to door, to spending my Saturday mornings buying clothes by the pound, washing them and selling them to consignment shops to make money. I should have known I was a little odd ball out.
I come from a large family with six sisters and a brother, and always felt I wanted to have a large family myself. It wasn't until I graduated college that I was told, "you can't raise kids and work a career". Since then, I've been club performer at several companies, and jumped into Real Estate to build a business of my own from nothing, all while raising 4 boys with hubs. Since then, I've tried to learn from others on how to scale and grow while also being a present mother and without sacrificing more of my time and freedom to do it.
I am all about empowering those to build and scale a business without giving up their precious time to grow their families and be there as a present parent.
Well, I felt I was S.O.L. because no one was talking about, nor teaching on how to scale a business as a parent. Not enough anyway, and I'm here to change that.
My co-workers and friends didn't really get my dilemma either. The more I grew my family, the more I was driven to create a business that allows me the FREEDOM to spend the time I want with my family. I was always the odd ball out at goal planning sessions with peers, mentioning 25hrs a week is all I wanted to commit to, and proficiency and productivity was my strategy. It was never about the money or awards. I am not a sit at home kind of person and I didn't want money to be a reason why I'd miss out on experiences. Aside from loving business in general (like a weirdo), I wanted the freedom money allowed me to be able to have the life I want. Do you feel me to the core on that!? Who says we have to work 40-60 hour work weeks to get there!? We sure can have both, your business should be built around your life, not the other way around.
Making things happen, Straight talk, family vacations, cinnamon rolls, live music, joy in the workplace, getting personal, learning something new, travel, old fashies, simple pleasures, love & doing hard things.
Excuses, emails, being stagnant, sauerkraut, folding laundry, soda, being cold, negative attitudes, mascara, small talk, pointless meetings, sore losers.
Out with my clients, submerged in real estate or biz talk, dancing in the kitchen, planning my next move, on the trampoline with my boys, or snuggling with hubs!
Waking up with the family & drinking a cup of coffee, ready to take on whatever the day brings! I try to wake up before the kiddos, but let's be real, they're on to me!
