Top 3 Must-Do Tasks for New Year’s Eve with kiddos!

December 16, 2023

New Year’s Eve isn’t just about counting down to 12:00—it’s our family’s special recipe for a fresh start!

I'm toree!

I’m a forever student to mom-ing and business, an optimistic solution finder, a passionate do-er, an adventurous foodie, a wine not-so aficionado, a local coffee shop trespasser, experience and real estate junkie, and a wannabe globe trotter, just curious about hearing more stories from strangers.

hello,

We’re just a few days away from waving goodbye to 2023, and let me tell you, New Year’s Eve is like our family’s secret recipe for a fresh start and quality time with the kiddos.

These moments are like a magical mix of getting things done and soaking up good vibes.

Every year, diving into these activities with my little ones feels like uncovering a new treasure. They’re all unique and incredibly special in their way.

  1. Home Organization: Now, this is where the fun begins! It’s not just about decluttering; it’s about teaming up with the kids and showing them the joy of giving. We turn organizing into a game. I ask them to hunt down toys or clothes they’ve outgrown, ones we can pass on to kids who’ll give them new adventures. It’s not just about tidying up; it’s about making room for a clearer, brighter year ahead.
  2. Create a Memory Jar: Here’s a heartwarming tradition we do as a family. We gather ’round and create a memory jar. Grab some colorful paper and pens for everyone. We scribble down our favorite moments from the year or our hopes for the upcoming one. We fold those notes and tuck them into a jar that we decorate together. And you know what’s super cool? We crack open that jar on future New Year’s Eves and relive those moments—total time-travel in a jar!
  3. Craft a Vision Board: This one’s an art project that’s equal parts creative and inspiring. I collect magazines, colorful papers, glue, and markers, and let the kids’ imaginations run wild. They snip out pictures or words that represent their dreams for the coming year. We put those dreams together on a board, making these awesome vision boards. It’s like creating a visual roadmap for their aspirations.

And amidst all this awesomeness, we make sure to celebrate! We crank up our favorite tunes, munch on our go-to snacks, and just soak in the joy of being together. These moments, they’re the ones that stick, you know? They’re the memories we cherish forever.

What’s your plan for New Year’s Eve? Got any cool traditions or activities lined up? Share ’em with me below!
