The Realtor Mom’s Journey: 5 Steps to Navigate Success and Family Fulfillment

April 3, 2024

Feeling torn between business success and family time? You’re not alone.

I'm toree!

I’m a forever student to mom-ing and business, an optimistic solution finder, a passionate do-er, an adventurous foodie, a wine not-so aficionado, a local coffee shop trespasser, experience and real estate junkie, and a wannabe globe trotter, just curious about hearing more stories from strangers.

hello,

Feeling like your phone is glued to your hand, managing every aspect of your business solo? Trust me, there’s a better way out of the endless scroll and constant client emails. Here are five game-changing steps to reclaim your time and sanity:

1. Start with Gratitude: First things first, let’s shift our perspective. Be grateful for this problem—it means you’ve built a thriving business. But here’s the kicker: gratitude isn’t just a warm fuzzy feeling; it’s a powerful tool for change. Recognize that you’ve come this far, and now you have the awareness and ability to make a change. You’ve got this!

2. Get it Down on Paper: Grab a pen and paper or fire up that spreadsheet—it’s time to map out your business journey. List out every single task, from marketing to client follow-through. Be thorough. Then, beside each task, jot down the amount of time it eats up in your week. Seeing it all laid out is the first step to taking back control.

3. Own Your Responsibilities: Now, let’s get real. Who’s responsible for all those tasks? If your name pops up beside almost every item, you’re not alone. It’s a common struggle for solo entrepreneurs, especially us mamas juggling multiple roles. But recognizing this is the first step to change.

4. Find Your Sweet Spots: Highlight the tasks you genuinely enjoy. These are your sweet spots—the things that light you up and make your heart sing. Now, take a hard look at the rest. Ask yourself: “Does this HAVE to be me?” Spoiler alert: probably not.

5. Delegate Like a Boss: Now comes the fun part—getting help! Take that list of tasks you’d rather pass off and start crafting job descriptions. It might seem daunting at first, but trust me, it’s worth it. Start small, whether it’s hiring an admin assistant or outsourcing tasks like social media management or transaction coordination.

I get it—it’s easier said than done. But here’s the thing: change starts with belief. Believe that you CAN do it. Believe that you DESERVE more time for yourself and your family. And most importantly, believe that it’s possible to build a business that works for YOU.
